Metabolic Balance® is a personalized, whole-food nutrition program that is designed to support your metabolism by working with your individual biochemistry – not against it. What is Metabolic Balance?

Metabolic Balance® is a nutrition-based lifestyle program that was developed in Germany by Dr. Wolf Funfack, Birgit Funfack and Silvia Bürkle. The program was originally designed to help patients with inflammation, metabolic dysfunction, and hormonal imbalances.

However, as they addressed these core issues, they found that their patients were reaching their optimal body weight naturally.

At its core, Metabolic Balance® uses:

  • Your blood chemistry
  • Your medical and health history
  • Your food preferences

This information is used to create a personalized meal plan designed to help restore balance at a metabolic and hormonal level.

And the best part? There are:

  • No shakes
  • No pills
  • No injections

Just real, whole food.

How Does Metabolic Balance Work?

The foundation of Metabolic Balance® is functional blood analysis.

The analysis goes beyond checking if your blood values fall inside a “normal” range. Instead, it looks at how well your body’s organs and systems are working together, and where imbalances may be found.

Your bloodwork is then used to create your personalized nutrition plan, which is often referred to as your roadmap. This roadmap outlines:

  • Which foods best support your metabolism
  • Which food combinations work best for your body
  • How meal timing impacts your blood sugar, hormones and energy

The program is further structured into four phases that allow your body to adapt gradually to the meal plan.

The Four Phases of Metabolic Balance

Phase 1: Preparation

A short, two-day phase designed to gently reset the body and prepare it for change.

Phase 2: The Strict Phase

These 14 days is your metabolic reset period. During this time, you follow your personalized plan closely. Many people notice improvements in their energy, digestion, sleep, inflammation, and cravings.

Phase 3: Relaxed Phase

After your metabolic reset, flexibility is reintroduced. This includes including more food and weekly treat meals, while staying aligned with your body’s needs.

Phase 4: Maintenance Phase

This is where it all comes together. This is where you take what you have learned and continue to eat in a way that is sustainable for you without falling back into old patterns.
